HOPE MARS MISSION

About: 

• Names: The Hope Mars Mission is also called as Emirates Mars Mission. Hope means Al-Amal (In Arabic). 
  
  
• What is it? It is a project of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to send a space exploration probe mission to Mars to study the Martian atmosphere and climate. 
  
  
• Timeline: The mission was announced in 2014. Hope Probe is scheduled to be launched in July 2020 from Japan. It is planned to reach Mars by 2021 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE. 
  
  
• Significance: It is a contribution towards a knowledge-based economy in the UAE. Upon launch, it will become the first mission to Mars by any Arab or Muslim majority country.
