The Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, while addressing the annual Group Meet of AICRP on MULLaRP & ARID Legumes 2019, called for increasing the acreage and productivity of pulses.

About:

Full Name: Mungbean, urdbean, lentil, lathyrus, rajmash and fieldpea (MULLaRP).
Share in pulse production: MULLaRP together accounts for about 37 % of total pulse production in India.
All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on MULLaRP:
- To give impetus for research on these crops in a coordinated manner at national level, the AICRP on MULLaRP was established in 1993 under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
- The network operates through more than 25 centers across the country.
