An aircraft of Alliance Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, completed its maiden international flight by connecting Chennai with Jaffna, Sri Lanka’s Tamil-majority Northern Province.

About:

Alliance Air is an Indian regional airline and a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India.
It was founded in 1996 and mainly operates domestic routes as part of the government's Regional Connectivity Scheme.
It also started operating from Jaffna, Sri Lanka since October 2019. Flights between Chennai and Jaffna are scheduled to begin from November 1.
