Shri R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy, visited Dam site of 330 MW NHPC Kishanganga power station at Gurez in Bandipora District of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

About:

  • The Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric scheme in Kashmir, India. Its dam diverts water from the Kishanganga River (also called the Neelum River) to a power plant in the Jhelum River basin.

  • It is located 5 km (3 mi) north of Bandipore in Jammu and Kashmir and has an installed capacity of 330 MW.
