Andrés Manuel López Obrador assumed the Mexico’s presidency, five months after winning a landslide election victory.
About:
Andrés Manuel López Obrador, commonly referred to by his initials AMLO, is a Mexican politician currently serving as the 65th President of Mexico.
During the 2018 presidential election, he represented Juntos Haremos Historia, a coalition of the left-wing Labor Party, right-wing Social Encounter Party, and MORENA.
With this he ended the two-party system in which the same two parties were running the government in last 89 years. He surged to victory in the July 1 elections promising a new approach to issues fuelling widespread outrage: crime, poverty and corruption.
