Renowned Malayalam poet Chemmanam Chacko passes away at the age of 92 due to age-related illness.

About:

  • Style: He was known for his satirical works. Through his poems, he reacted to the contemporary socio-political issues of Kerala.

  • Honours:
    • In 2006, he was conferred with the lifetime achievement award for literature by the Kerala Sahitya Akademi.

    • He has also won, Sanjayan Award, Kunjan Nambiar Kavitha puraskaram, P Smaraka Puraskaram and Mahakavi Ulloor Award.
