Deccan Queen Express, running between Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra, is gearing up for a major revamp.

Route: The Deccan Queen or Deccan Queen Express, is an Indian passenger train that connects the two cities of Maharashtra, i.e. Mumbai and Pune.
Name: The service was named after the nickname for Pune: Queen of the Deccan.
History: Deccan Queen service was introduced in 1930.
The Deccan Queen has several firsts or 'among the firsts' to her credit: she was India's first superfast train and was the first long distance electric hauled passenger train.
Proposed revamp:
Firstly, it is now proposed to be upgraded with the German design Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches which have a better safety features and improved travelling experience.
Secondly, there is proposed revamp of external design of the train which will be done by National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.
