Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) has developed ready-to-eat food that will be consumed by astronauts riding on the first Indian human space mission in 2022.

About:

DFRL the food research centre of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). DFRL is organised under the Life Sciences Directorate of DRDO.
It conducts research and development of technologies and products in the area of food science and technology to cater the varied food challenges for the Indian Armed Forces.
It is located at Mysuru.
