Dr Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, signed a MoU to enhance research activities and policy formulation aimed at Socio-economic Transformation and Sustainable Development.
About DAIC:
Background: It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2017. He had laid the foundation stone of this Centre in 2015.
Location: New Delhi.
Architecture: The architecture of DAIC is a mix of modern and traditional styles with the Sanchi Stupa Toran as the main facade of the Centre in keeping with Dr. Ambedkar's love for Buddhism.
Mandate: DAIC is a state-of-the-art Centre for –
Quality research in socio-economic transformation and it has been envisaged as a think-tank for preparing policy briefs.
Dissemination of Dr. Ambedkar's teachings and vision.
DAICSET: DAIC houses the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre for Socio-Economic Transformation (DAICSET) which is a think-tank dealing with socio-economic issues.
SAMRASTA:
DAIC also houses the International Centre for Affirmative Action and Inclusive Growth – SAMRASTA.
“SAMRASTA” would be a resource centre for promoting inter-disciplinary research in affirmative action in the social sector, with focus on employment and skilling.
