A controversy has broke out over the imposition of 18 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST) on garba passes this year. On August 4, Congress’s Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh called it the ‘Garba Samaapt Tax’ (Garba-ending tax).
