Gita Gopinath:
- Gita Gopinath, aged 47 is an Indian-American economist. She is the John Zwaanstra professor of International Studies and Economics at Harvard University.
- She is the 11th chief economist of the IMF. She succeeds Maurice (Maury) Obstfeld as Economic Counsellor and Director of the IMF’s Research Department.
- She is the second person of Indian origin after Raghuram Rajan, to serve as the chief economist of IMF.
