Ministerial panel on MSMEs
- GST Council approved a 6-member ministerial panel to look into the issues faced by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
- It will be headed by Minister of State for Finance Pratap Shukla.
Digital Payments:
- To incentivise digital payments, it cleared a pilot project to offer cashback of 20 % of GST paid on business-to-consumer transactions using RuPay and BHIM platforms, subject to a cap of Rs 100 per transaction.
- The pilot programme will be implemented in any state on a voluntary basis.
- National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will develop the software to facilitate the cashback.
