INDIA-UN DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP FUND

United Nation's Secretary General Antonio Guterres has praised the India-UN Development Partnership Fund for championing greater prosperity for all while contributing to South-South cooperation.

About: 

  • Parent fund: The India-UN Development Partnership Fund is a dedicated facility within the United Nations Fund for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC). 

  • Background: It was established in 2017. 

  • Administration: 
    • It is supported and led by the Government of India, managed by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), and implemented in collaboration with the United Nations system. 

    • The Government of India has committed a total of USD 150 million for this Fund over the next decade to support projects that are in alignment with the 2030 Agenda. 



  • Mandate: The Fund supports Southern-owned and led, demand-driven, and transformational sustainable development projects across the developing world, with a focus on least developed countries and small island developing states.
