The 2018-19 edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale will come to close on 29 March, 2019.

About: 

  • What is it? The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is an international exhibition of contemporary art. 

  • Key Highlights: 
    • Indian and international artists exhibit artworks across a variety of mediums including film, installation, painting, sculpture, new media and performance art. 

    • Alongside the exhibition the Biennale offers a rich programme of talks, seminars, screenings, music, workshops and educational activities for school children and students. 



  • Held in: Kochi, Kerala. 

  • Organized by: Kochi Biennale Foundation with support from the Government of Kerala. 

  • Timeline: It was first organized in 2012. The fourth edition of the Biennale is being held from 12 December, 2018 until 29 March, 2019. 

Kochi Biennale Foundation: 

  • Status: A non-profit charitable trust. 

  • Functions: It is engaged in promoting art & culture and educational activities in India; primary amongst them the hosting of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. 

  • Founded in: 2010. 

  • Founded by: Artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu.
