Mithali Raj, during India's series against New Zealand Women, set the world record by becoming the first woman to play in 200-woman One Day International (WODIs) matches.

About: 

  • Mithali Raj (from Rajasthan) is the captain of the Indian women's cricket team in Tests and WODI. 

  • Mithali made her WODI debut way back in 1999 and has featured in 200 games out of the 263 ODIs India have played. She has also played 10 Tests and 85 T20s. 

  • Records held by her: 
    • She is the highest run-getter in ODIs and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000-run mark in WODIs. 

    • First player to score seven consecutives 50s in WODIs. 

    • Most half-centuries scored in WODIs. 

    • Only player (male or female) to have captained India in more than one ICC ODI World Cup final, doing so twice in 2005 and 2017.
