Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 12 Post-Office Pass Port Seva Kendras (POPSK) in Tamil Nadu. He also laid the foundation stone for AIIMS Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) is an Indian government initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Department of Posts (DoP).
Under it, the Head Post Offices (HPO)/ Post Offices are being utilized as a Passport Seva Kendra for delivery of passport related services to the citizens of India.
MEA aims to open POPSKs at every Lok sabha Constituency so as to develop passport related services on a bigger scale and to ensure wider area coverage.
