Union Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha released a Commemorative Postage Stamp on Rajkumar Shukla.

About:

  • Raj Kumar Shukla (1875 – 1929) was the person who convinced Mahatama Gandhi to visit Champaran village in Bihar to see the plight of the cultivators under an oppressive system established by European indigo planters.

  • This led to the launch of Champaran Satyagrah which was a turning point in India's fight for independence.
