Union Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha released a Commemorative Postage Stamp on Rajkumar Shukla.
About:
Raj Kumar Shukla (1875 – 1929) was the person who convinced Mahatama Gandhi to visit Champaran village in Bihar to see the plight of the cultivators under an oppressive system established by European indigo planters.
This led to the launch of Champaran Satyagrah which was a turning point in India's fight for independence.
