The Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
About:
Sheila Dikshit (1938 – 2019), was an Indian politician who served as the chief Minister of Delhi for a period of 15 years from 1998 to 2013.
She was one of the longest-serving chief ministers of Delhi and was the longest-serving female chief minister of any Indian state.
Her efforts to bring in cleaner public transport, extend the Delhi Metro project and build flyovers in Delhi won wide appreciation. Her largely successful legacy in Delhi was, however, marred by allegations of corruption during the 2010 Common Wealth Games.
