At least six people were killed and more than 20 are reportedly missing after Tiware Dam in Maharashtra breached following heavy rain.

Location: The Tiware dam is located on a rivulet in Chiplun taluka of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra.
Recent development: The Tiware dam had started developing cracks after Tuesday evening. Before villagers downstream could be alerted, the dam developed a rupture flooding the villages and hamlets within minutes.
