The United Nations released its first-ever recommendations on physical activity for children under five.

Key highlights: Children under five must do the following if they are to grow up healthy –
spend less time sitting watching screens, or restrained in prams and seats,
get better quality sleep and
have more time for active play
Benefits:
This will improve their physical, mental health and wellbeing, and help prevent childhood obesity and associated diseases later in life.
These health outcomes will contribute to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) targets 2.2 (to end all forms of malnutrition) and 3.4 (to reduce by one-third premature mortality from NCDs).
