A 12-member Mizo National Front (MNF) government headed by Zoramthanga assumed office in Mizoram.

Zoramthanga (born 1944) is an Indian politician who is the current Chief Minister of Mizoram. He is the leader of Mizo National Front (MNF). He served as the Chief Minister of Mizoram from 1998 to 2008, for two consecutive terms.
Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Zoramthanga and 11 other council of Ministets at Raj Bhavan in Aizawl.
MNF had dislodged Congress from the state by winning 26 seats in the 40-member Assembly in the recently held elections.
