Option 1: 1 only

Detailed Solution

Explanation:

  • The only active volcano in India is the Barren Island volcano. It is located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It lies about 140 kms to the east of Port Blair (South Andaman). So, statement 1 is correct and statement 2 is not correct.

  • The volcano was in a dormant state for more than 150 years. A major eruption took place in  1991. Since then, it has also erupted in 1995, 2005 and 2017. So, statement 3 is not correct.
